Huge success at the Ardingly spring show with our T/B stallion HEVER GOLF RANGER who won the Arab-Anglo-Thorobred ridden stallion class and then went on to be Champion Ridden Stallion. Our thanks must go to Helen and Anne Baker who have transformed him from a racehorse to a "show horse" in 4 weeks. A lot of interest was shown by the hack and ridding horse breeders and his future looks very bright. We also showed P.ROWAN how finished 4th in the Sec B 2&3yr class and we were pleased with him as it is early in the season and he is improving by the week.

Another successful day at the Ardingly Spring Show. P.MANTOVANI (Tetworth Tetrach---Brynwell Melody) ridden by Harriet Eden-Haigh won the NPS Micor Demolition M & M First Ridden and then went on to be the Micor Champion. P.MANTOVANI was sold by Pennway at Fayre Oaks as a 3 yr old colt but was gelded and resold to Dr A.C.Haigh and is ridden by his daughter. P.MANTOVANI'S mother Brynwell Melody is still at Pennway and is now a spritely 29 yrs old.

Great excitement at Pennway when the Horse & Hound arrived on Thursday as our T/B stallion H.G.RANGER made the headlines in the South of England spring show report. The next page had a photo of P.MANTOVANI . P.TAPDANCE and P.JAZZ are both on course to go to the Home Counties spring show on bank holiday Monday.

LAITHEHILL PLUME (HEATON ROMEO-----LAITHEHILL SAMITE) at her very first time out won the Sec B youngstock and then went Champion Sec B and was Reserve Champion Welsh. Rachel dragged out BRYNWELL MELODY at 29 year old. She was second in the 4yr and over Sec B class and then won the veteran class from an entry of 24. It was a good day for Pennway.

30th August 2004
After a disastrous day at Edenbridge and Oxted we loaded up the lorry and headed for Home Counties with Ruth and Terry. I guess it was another day and another show but it ended with 3 champions on board and a heap of rosettes. Ruth and Terry ended with Champion Sec A youngstock and Reserve overall welsh youngstock. Their Sec B stallion was Champion Sec B and reserve overall Welsh exhibit and our colt P.PEREGRINE won the 2 & 3 yr old Sec B class and was Champion Sec B youngstock. We had a good day out and felt we were back on course.
4th August 2004
I was away at Burghley Horse Trials working so had to leave this weekends showing to the A team. Pat ,Ruth, and Terry loaded the lorry and headed for the Three Shires Show at Milton Keynes. Once again they had a brilliant day. Champion Sec A with their Sec A 2 yr old, Champion Sec B with their Sec B stallion and we won the Sec B 2 & 3 yr old class and went Reserve Champion Sec B and won the WPCS Bronze Medal with P,PEREGRINE. Pennway and Farchynys proved once again they can hold their own in top company.
PENNWAY PEREGRINE in full flight
9th September 2004
Licensed both our 3 yr old colts today so both P.PEREGRINE and P.ROWAN are about to join the stallion ranks and we feel both of them have a lot to contribute to the further improvement of the breed. We also had P.JUBILEE gelded as we consider his future is as a first ridden M & M.
15th September 2004
Sold P.Jubilee today and has gone to his new home and will be first pony for a little 1 yr old girl. His new owners love him and I think he will be very spoilt.
25th September 2004.
Just arrived home from Fayre Oaks Welsh sale after a day out shopping and we brought a Sec B filly foal to add new blood to the stud. The filly is called BROOKHALL MULBERRY, and is dark chestnut with a lot of quality and will make a lovely show yearling. She is by BARKWAY ARTISTE (COTTRELL ARTISTE) who was the highest priced Sec B stallion sold at Fayre Oaks 2003 for £3400.00 out of BROOKHALL MELISSA (WESTON NEPTUNE) OUT OF BRACON LILACTIME (DOWNLAND MANDARIN).
2nd October 2004.
Weaned P.PORTRAIT (Westacre Comic Opera--Pennway Collette) today as a friend for BROOKHALL MULBERRY and after a short time of sparring they settled down well.
23rd October 2004
Winter is really setting in so we decided to wean the two colt foals today so P.MERLIN and P.CORONACH have joined P.PORTRAIT and BROOKHALL MULBERRY in the barn. There was a stand off for a while but all 4 were in the feed manger tonight tucking in to their grub. We also sent P.TAPDANCE to the Broads to be broken in. She will return to Pennway after Xmas to be shown in hand next year in partbred classes.
7th November 2004
Weaned foals doing really and growing fast. We should have some serious yearlings to show in 2005
21st November 2004
We took BROOKHALL MULBERRY to her 1st show today. It was the SEWPCA foal show and the had huge entries. Mulberry won the Sec B foal class from a good class of 16 Sec B foals so we are looking forward to 2005 with her.
8th December 2004
P.TAPDANCE broke in really easily so we have brought her home for the winter but have sent P.PEREGRINE to the Broads to be broken in and hopefully he will be able to be shown in a few ridden M & M classes next year. All the ponies are now in their winter quarters. P.MERLIN,P.CORONACH,P.PORTRAIT & BROOKHALL MULBERRY will remain in their barn until the spring. L.PLUME,P.JAZZ & P.ROSINA are also sharing a barn were they will remain until spring. MINNIE, P.TAPDANCE & L.AMETHYST and the stallions are in boxes and the remaining mares will stay out in the valley for the winter. They have all been rugged so they will be snug and we do feed them hard feed to get them through the winter. We are looking forward to next year and would like to wish all our friends ................................................................................
